Roy chides feminist Davis over her support for 'late-term abortion'

As the 2020 general election draws near, the pressing issues that Texans are concerned with are the economy, border security, and now overall community security, but the usual wedge issues like abortion and immigration will still play a big role in the cycle.

One of this election cycle's most contentious congressional primary race in Texas is the contest between Rep. Chip Roy (R) and former state Senator Wendy Davis (D), a race that is being run along ideologically political lines.

There isn’t any middle ground to be found in this race. Rep. Roy, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, is running a center-right campaign, while Davis, the devout Progressive and feminist, is running a campaign that rivals those of other Democratic Socialist candidates Mike Siegel and Julie Oliver.

During a recent interview with Roy, the first-term congressman told Texas Politics that Davis was as extreme of a candidate as they come, pointed to her past vote against a ban for sanctuary cities, and her unabated support for a third term or late-term abortion of babies in the womb.

“We know where she is on life, she didn’t filibuster for Abortion,” said Roy, who added that while in the state legislature, Davis’ support for “third-trimester abortion is what she took to the floor of the Texas Senate to filibuster.”

Wendy Davis receives endorsement from ‘defund police’ group Indivisible

Roy also reminded us that Davis wore a hat in the shape of a vagina “on the steps of the Texas Capitol” to promote her pro-Abortion position, a move that he doesn’t think is “befitting of someone who wants to represent this district in Congress.”

During the 2017 Women’s March in Austin, Davis was interviewed by disguised conservative filmmaker Steven Crowder, aka “Stephanie,” who while dressed as a transsexual, talked to Davis about her “P-ssy hat economics.”

“This is my pussy hat...And I’m wearing it very proudly,” stated Davis.

P-ssy Hat Economics: “We women, when we earn money, we spend money.”

Davis’ very one words on abortion and equality match up with those of the pro-choice organization NARAL. NARAL only endorses candidates who support all abortions, including those conducted in the last trimester.

During an op-ed for Elle Magazine Davis stated the following regarding women being considered as equal to men after having an abortion:

“We [women] became the authors of our destiny. We made a bold step toward what it means to live as equal citizens of this country and of this world.”

Here is what NARAL states on their website:

When the right to abortion is endangered, the fundamental equality of women is threatened. A woman can never be equal if she is denied the basic right to make decisions for herself and her family.

A poll conducted in 2019 among Texan voters shows that the majority of Texans support a ban on abortions after 6 weeks.
