Biden Compares Trump To Nazi Propagandist And Fidel Castro

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in an interview with MSNBC on Saturday compared President Trump to German Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels and Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro to combat his rival claims that he is pushing a socialist agenda.

MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle defended Biden against the notion that he is a socialist while asking

how would he push back on Trump’s barrage of attacks labeling him as a socialist on the campaign trail and voters starting to believe it.

“You’ve said it very clearly, you are not a socialist. And you actually have a record to prove that you’re not,” Ruhle asked. “But what the president does, he says you are, he says it twice as often and twice as loud.  How do you combat that lie when he keeps pushing it, and some voters start to believe it?”

“I’m not sure anybody hasn’t already made up their mind they’re for Trump. But who knows,” Biden replied. “You know he's sort of like Goebbels you say the lie long enough keep repeating repeated repeated it becomes common knowledge.”

“The other week I was too moderate, as you remember, I was too tough. And now the American people, I think they know who I am. They know my heart, they know my story, my family story. Trump is using socialism to scare and distract Floridians from a failed pandemic,” Biden continued. “I think people see very clearly the difference between me and Donald Trump. Trump is clearing protests in front of the White House that are peaceful, you know, with the military. This guy is more Castro than Churchill.”

The MSNBC host also asked the former Vice President about the upcoming Tuesday debate and whether House Speaker Pelosi has a point in suggesting for him to skip the debate.

“Well she does, you know, two people of your consequence in the press have said the same thing, written articles about that,” Biden said. “Leading columnists who are not to the best of my knowledge Democrat or Republican, just leading columnists. And one of them said I shouldn’t debate him unless there’s a crawler underneath everything he says, fact-checking as we go.”

“Look, the people know the president’s a liar,” Biden added. “I mean they know that. It’s not like it’s gonna come as a surprise to them. And so I’m prepared to go out and make my case as to why I think he’s failed, and why I think the answers I have to proceed will help the American people and the American economy and make us safe internationally.”

Biden believes the debate will be full of the president of throwing personal “straight attacks,” saying the reason this would happen is because Trump doesn’t “know how to debate” because he is not smart.

“It is going to be difficult. I know the, I mean my guest is it’s going to be just straight attack. They're going to be mostly personal. That’s the only think he knows how to do,” Biden said. “He doesn’t know how to debate the facts because he’s not that smart. He doesn’t know that many facts. He doesn’t know much about foreign policy, he doesn’t know much about domestic policy, he doesn’t know much about the detail.”

The first presidential debate is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29.
