The 2020 Presidential Race is heating up in Texas, as the latest polls highlight a contested race in the Republican-leaning state.
President Trump is holding onto a contested lead in the Lone Star State as election day is just over a week away. The latest polls from Real Clear Politics show Trump leading Joe Biden with a slim average of just three points in Texas.
The latest poll from the Dallas Morning News, however, shows just the opposite, with Biden leading Trump by a margin of three points. Additionally, Quinnipiac's latest poll shows that Trump and Biden are tied in Texas, with forty-seven points for each candidate. The strongest poll for Trump comes from the Rasmussen Reports, showing the President with a seven-point lead over his Democratic opponent.
While the Trump Campaign is confident they will hold onto Texas, these polls show that the race is up for grabs.
In the 2016 presidential race, Trump won Texas over Hillary Clinton by about nine points. This time around, however, Democrats are optimistic that the longtime Republican stronghold could turn blue. In an effort to make that dream a reality, Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris plans to make a campaign stop in Texas on October 30th.
The race for the Lone Star State is proving to be as intriguing as any other in the country.
Will Texas make a historic shift and turn blue? Or will the longtime red state maintain its position as a Republican stronghold?
