Texas Reps. Escobar and Allred call out extremism and hate

Over the weekend, supporters of President Trump (R) took part in the Million MAGA March, which was a march in support of the president and his numerous court cases against alleged voter fraud in the 2020 election results. A number of voters took to the streets to march, expressing their support for the president, where it ultimately ended up in front of the Supreme Court.

Come nightfall, a number of supporters for the President were attacked by members of Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA, some of the attacks went viral after videos of them were posted online. This resulted in further division amongst Americans than has already been experienced as a result of the November 3^rd election results.

With Americans more divided than ever, lawmakers are just as divided, but some of them are calling for unity behind Vice President Joe Biden (D), and one of those lawmakers is Texas Rep. Veronica Escobar (D).

Rep. Escobar voiced her support behind the social justice activism that has taken place for the greater part of 2020, the Texas congresswoman commented that “in honor of the victims, survivors, and communities across the country impacted by indescribable pain and horror – we must come together and work vigorously to combat hate, extremism, and bigotry.”

Texas Rep. Colin Allred (D) echoed  Escobar’s remarks, adding that hate crimes have risen in recent years, which has made the United States a contentious country to live in for some Americans.

The Texas lawmaker commented that “this is extremely disturbing data as hate crimes continue to increase at an alarming rate,” noting that “we must work together to root out hate wherever it exists and make our world a better place for future generations.”

Along with his comments, Allred shared an article from the Associated Press that argues that “there were 51 hate crime murders in 2019, which includes 22 people who were killed in a shooting that targeted Mexicans at a Walmart in the border city of El Paso, Texas.”

There is hatred and bigotry out there, that is for sure, but much of that hatred is coming directly from the Black Lives Matter movement and ANTIFA, who over the past 7-8 months has shown the nation, the world, just how angry and violent they can be.

As a result of the BLM and ANTIFA rioting, over $1 billion in damages to private property has been committed, not to mention the numerous assaults and murder that have been committed at the hands of BLM and ANTIFA.
