Crenshaw Slams Biden's Immigration Plan

Ahead of his inauguration this Wednesday, President-elect Joe Biden (D) released a “plan for securing our values as a nation of immigrants,” assuring that he will provide a pathway to citizenship for 11 million individuals.

In announcing his plan, Biden said that “when President Trump uses family separation as a weapon against desperate mothers, fathers, and children seeking safety and a better life,” “when he threatens massive raids that would break up families who have been in this country for years and targets at sensitive locations like hospitals and schools,” and “when children die while in custody due to lack of adequate care,” there needs to be a course correction from the last four years.

However, some lawmakers are raising concerns that the plan will do more harm than good in the long run.

In response to President-elect Biden’s plan, Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R) warned that “it’s time to pay attention” to concerns.

Crenshaw argued that the plan will only “defund border walls,” “end Remain-in-Mexico policy (by far most effective policy that curbed illegal crossings)” and “citizenship for 11M illegal immigrants (cut right in front of millions of legal immigrants).”

Simply put, the Texas lawmaker urged Americans to “call your rep” to make sure that the Biden administration does not follow through with its plan.

The plan is an effort to combat the last four years of the Trump administration. President-elect Biden has already announced that he will sign an executive order for a mask mandate for the first 100 days that he’s in office, and he has already signaled that he will sign an executive order to cancel the controversial Keystone Pipeline XL permit in his first day in office.
