100 House Democrats Push COVID Funding for Illegal Alien Workers

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to stifle the American economy and cause unimaginable financial hardships for tens of millions of Americans, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives wants to give taxpayer dollars to illegal aliens working in the U.S.

U.S. citizens and those immigrants who are legally employed are eligible to receive COVID stimulus funds, but Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro (D) believes that is not enough and says that he is working on “citizenship legislation” to make sure illegal aliens receive stimulus dollars.

"Immigrant essential workers have risked their lives so all Americans could overcome this pandemic — and they should be included in our nation’s economic recovery," tweeted Rep. Castro. "I’m working on citizenship legislation."

Rep. Castro, who is the chairman of the Democrat-only Hispanic Caucus in the House of Representatives, is one of 100 Democratic legislators who signed a letter urging Speaker Nancy Pelosi to offer a “pathway to citizenship for essential immigrant workers and their families.”

"100 Members of Congress urge for the inclusion of immigrant essential workers, #Dreamers & #TPS in the upcoming #COVID19 reconciliation recovery bill. Immigrants have helped keep Americans healthy & safe during the pandemic & are critical for our economic recovery," stated the Hispanic Caucus on Twitter

The letter begins by stating that in order for "the health of our nation" to be secured, immigrant workers need to be protected, including illegal aliens.

"As we continue to confront a public health and economic catastrophe that will soon have claimed the lives of 450,000 Americans exacerbated deep racial, gender, and economic inequities, it is vital that we include protections for immigrant workers to secure the health of our nation and lay the foundation for a robust and dynamic economic recover. — stated the letter

Of the 100 House Democrats who signed the letter, and excluding Rep. Castro, are Reps. Filemon Vela, Henry Cuellar, Sheila Jackson Lee, Veronica Escobar, Vicente Gonzalez, Sylvia Garcia, and Marc Veasey.
