Cruz says Democrats are 'hell bent on Destroying' the U.S. Supreme Court

Congressional Democrats  have answered the call of the Progressive wing of their party, and have finally made the long-anticipated move to pack the U.S. Supreme Court by introducing “The Judiciary Act of 2021.”

The measure introduced by Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey (D) would add 4 Justices to the high court.

President Biden (D), who has long opposed the packing of the Supreme Court, is now open to the idea, and has called for a congressional committee to evaluate the need for an expansion.

Progressive Democrats, however, were less reluctant than Biden, as they want to see this done ASAP through legislative means, hence this week’s announcement that they would seek to pack the Supreme Court.

While Democrats hold the majority in the U.S. Senate by way of Vice President Kamala Harris being the tie-breaking vote in the event of tie on the Senate floor, Republicans still have a loud voice of opposition in this chamber, and Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) is arguable one of the loudest voice, if not the loudest.

Texas Politics reached out to Senator Cruz for his thoughts on the recent court-packing revelations and Cruz reminded America exactly what Democrats say they would do if put in a position of power.

“Last fall, the Democrats told the American people that they would try to pack the Supreme Court if they were put in power.  They meant what they said and now we’re seeing them start to make good on that promise,” stated Sen. Cruz. “ The left is hell-bent on destroying the independence of the judiciary and undermining the fundamental rights of Americans protected in the Constitution.”

Cruz is convinced the left-wing move would destroy the non-political nature of the SCOTUS. But there is hope for Republicans and it lies in Senators Joe Manchin and Kristen Sinema, two centrist-Democratic Senators who have pushed back against the entirety of the Progressive agenda being introduced by their colleagues.
