Allen West: 'Election Integrity is not About Voter Suppression'

Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick (R) is urging Gov. Greg Abbott (R) to call the Texas legislature into a special session next month specifically to address and pass the SB 29 transgenders in sports bill and quite possibly a few other bills, including SB 7, Texas' election integrity measure.

According to Lt. Gov. Patrick, the House of Representatives "killed" the "conservative bills" he says the overwhelming bipartisan majority of Texas support.

The aforementioned  SB 7, the controversial voter and election integrity bill that mirrors the Florida SB 90 bill that Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law earlier this week, may bring out activists considering that they believe the measure suppresses the Black vote.

As Gov. DeSantis did, Gov. Abbott asked his state legislature to send him election integrity bills for him to sign into law.

Corporations like Dallas-based American Airlines have already expressed their distaste for the bill, fueling the current "woke" narrative that has dominated American society.

Republicans contend that the measure focuses on  "election integrity and security" and it prevents election fraud, but Texas Democrats say that the bill is nothing more than a voter suppression vehicle Republicans will use to win elections.

Texas Democrats, who have had their hands full dealing with their Republican counterparts lead by Chairman Allen West, tweeted a meme directing followers to contact their legislators and ask them to oppose the bill, any bill, that "could harm voters of color and voters with disabilities."

Earlier this week, the Texas GOP published their weekly "Chairman West's Monday Message" newsletter where the former member of Congress and newly-minted grandfather opines about legislative issues and bills such as SB 7, which is one of the Texas GOP's 2021 "legislative priorities."

West dressed down the "progressive socialists" in the Texas House for gutting and watering down the bill, adding that "Election integrity is not about voter suppression."

"We are still awaiting the result of a very integral measure for the future of our State and Constitutional Republic, Election Integrity," stated West. "The legislation, SB 7, was a strong election integrity measure, but it was gutted, substituted, and watered down in the Texas House by progressive socialists. Election integrity is not about voter suppression. The unconstitutional actions of the left in the 2020 election cycle suppressed the votes of honest Americans, Texans.

Even though West says the bill is watered down, the measure addresses many issue, one of them being the practice of ballot harvesting by individuals and third parties.

Here is the list of all the Texas legislators that support SB 7:
