After announcing his intention to run for attorney general in Texas in June 2021, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush released his initial campaign ad today. The ad discusses George P.’s plan to secure the Border and features members of the National Border Patrol Council and Council President Brandon Judd.

In his bid for attorney general, George P. Bush has pitched himself as the toughest candidate on the border. His video emphasized his experience as a navy officer and laid out his three-pronged plan to secure the border: working with the Governor to deploy more National Guard troops to the Texas/Mexico border, Toughening criminal penalties on drug smugglers and human traffickers, and finishing President Trump’s wall.

As he ramps up his campaign to unseat the incumbent attorney general Ken Paxton, George P. is making border security one of his top priorities. In July, he used his authority as land commissioner to file a lawsuit against the Biden administration for preventing the construction of a wall on the Texas-Mexico border. Bush has also joined Governor Abbott to build the Texas Border wall on state lands, connecting the existing wall built by the Bush and Trump Administrations.
