Former U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) event in Dallas, Texas, alongside other conservative figures and lawmakers including Texas officials.
For the second year in a row, the national event will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. Trump is the keynote speaker, Several of Texas’ top elected officials are also scheduled to speak, including U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Governor Greg Abbott, Rep. Beth Van Duyne, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Also in attendance will be several international figures, including Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban who has been recently criticized for a July 23 speech in Romania in which he said that he wanted to prevent Hungary from becoming a “mixed-race” country and railed against a “flood” of migrants being “forced” on the country. In response, long-time Orban ally and adviser Zsuzsanna Hegedus resigned, comparing his rhetoric to Nazi propaganda.
Trump released a statement saying it was “great spending time with my friend” and that the two were also celebrating Orban’s April electoral victory, in which Trump endorsed him.
