Cruz Takes Aim at Biden’s Border Policies

In the wake of the official end of Title 42, Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) has taken aim at President Joe Biden’s (D) border policies.

In a series of tweets, the Texas senator made his thoughts on the border crisis very clear.

“I'm in Brownsville, seeing the #BidenBorderCrisis firsthand— this is his fault! We already have the worst illegal immigration in the history of our country & it’s about to get worse,” stated the Texas lawmaker.

Sen. Cruz accused Pres. Biden of “hiding” from the issues taking place at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Biden needs to stop hiding in the basement and go see this humanitarian crisis. #Title42"

Sen. Cruz expressed his belief that Pres. Biden’s handling of the “border crisis” is purposefully “horrific”.

“Horrific and cruel. The #BidenBorderCrisis is a deliberate political decision from Biden, Harris and every congressional Dem,” said the lawmaker.

The Texas senator continued to emphasize how Biden stopped the construction of the border wall as well as other policies from Title 42.

“Biden brought back catch and release, he halted construction of the wall, & he ended the Remain in Mexico policy. Now Biden has let #Title42 expire!”

According to the video posted by Sen. Cruz, he believes that the expiration of Title 42 will send massive waves of illegal immigrants to the border. Moreover, his Republican peers, recently passed a bill that targets illegal immigrants and asylum-seeking migrants.

The republican supported bill, also known as the Secure Our Borders Act, recently passed the House. The bill includes several measures that would target illegal immigration in the U.S.

The bill states that it is able to limit "asylum eligibility to non-U.S. nationals who arrive in the United States at a port of entry as well as the removal of a non-U.S. national into a country other than that individual's country of nationality or last lawful habitual residence."

H.R. 2 also focuses on what criminal activity constitutes deportation by expanding "the types of crimes that may make an individual ineligible for asylum, such as a conviction for driving while intoxicated, causing another person's serious bodily injury or death.”
