Crenshaw Calls Biden's Impeachment Inquiry ‘Reasonable’

Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R) is weighing in on the impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden (D). In light of the announcement, President Donald Trump (R) and Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R) have been the subject of scrutiny for supporting the inquiry. However, Republicans like Crenshaw are pushing back against detractors, arguing that the impeachment inquiry is “reasonable.”

Earlier this week, Speaker McCarthy made headlines after he announced his endorsement of an impeachment inquiry against the president. In response, Democrats like Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D)slammed the decision, arguing that there’s absolutely no evidence against the president. Instead, Wasserman-Schultz accused Trump of being behind the inquiry and going as far as to say that McCarthy is the CEO Of the Trump campaign.

Crenshaw, on the other hand, took to social media to comment that it’s in fact “reasonable to open an impeachment inquiry when a particularly suspicious set of facts has emerged that warrant further investigation.”

In making his case, Crenshaw describes various reasons why it’s important to pursue this inquiry.

“There’s reasonable suspicion,” Crenshaw wrote, because “Almost $20 million in payments were directed to Biden’s associates and family through different shell companies, according to bank records.”

In pursuing the impeachment inquiry, the Texas Republican expressed that it “would allow access to more documents that could highlight corruption or pay-for-play.” Crenshaw further explained that “the Treasury Department obtained more than 150 transactions involving the Bidens and other associates that were flagged by American banks as ‘suspicious activity.’”

More troubling, Crenshaw wrote, is that “there’s eyewitness testimony that President Biden joined multiple phone calls and had conversations that gave cars and millions of dollars to Hunter Biden and his son’s business partners.”

This, on top of Hunter Biden having “implicated his dad in conversations with CCP officials” is reason enough for an impeachment inquiry according to Crenshaw.
