Judge Finds Donald Trump and Sons Liable for Fraud

Former President Donald Trump (R) along with his sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., have been found liable for fraud. Judge Arthur Engoron promptly canceled the business certification of the Trump Organization.

“Today, a judge ruled in our favor and found that Donald Trump and the Trump Organization engaged in years of financial fraud,” said New York Attorney General Letitia James.

She continued, saying, “We look forward to presenting the rest of our case at trial.”

According to the judge, Trump has wildly exaggerated his wealth for several years. Moreover, he has deceived banks, investors, and others in his attempts to represent his   financial status.

The former president is said to have inflated the worth of his Trump Tower apartment by up to $207 million dollars.

“Exacerbating defendants’ obstreperous conduct is their continued reliance on bogus arguments, in papers and oral argument,” said Engoron.

“In defendants’ world: rent regulated apartments are worth the same as unregulated apartments; restricted land is worth the same as unrestricted land; restrictions can evaporate into thin air; a disclaimer by one party casting responsibility on another party exonerates the other party’s lies …”

Despite the judge’s statements, Trump is expected to appeal the ruling.

“My Civil rights have been violated, and some Appellate Court, whether federal or state, must reverse this horrible, un-American decision,” said Trump.

He followed those statements with claims that his business had been done properly while also criticizing the justice system.

Earlier this year in August, the former president and 18 of his allies were indicted in Georgia for their alleged role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election.

His allies include former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Trump administration Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark and Trump attorney and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

The defendants have been accused of creating a “criminal racketeering” enterprise to overturn the results of the election in the state of Georgia.
