Rep. Crenshaw Laments Ongoing Republican Infighting

Amid renewed calls for Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R) to be removed from office, Texas Representative Dan Crenshaw (R) lamented the ongoing Republican infighting.

In a tweet, Rep. Crenshaw gave his thoughts on the matter.

Crenshaw began his statements by criticizing and taking shots at the mental well-being of President Joe Biden (D).

“We have a senile, unpopular Democrat president in the White House. Voters are rightfully pointing to Democrats as responsible for an unprecedented border crisis, persistent inflation, and rampant crime in every major city in America.”

The Texas representative continued by juxtaposing what he believed the Republicans should be doing with what they are currently doing.

“But instead of pointing out those failures and presenting a united front to address real problems facing our country, Republicans are about to spend another week - maybe more - pointlessly fighting with each other. This is stupid.”

On Oct. 2, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz (R) filed a motion and called for the speaker of the house to be removed from office.

The move has been heavily criticized by Republicans, and many Democrats are considering it to be a sign of Republican inability to govern.

“I have enough Republicans where at this point next week, one of two things will happen: Kevin McCarthy won’t be the speaker of the House or he’ll be the speaker of the House working at the pleasure of the Democrats,” said Rep. Gaetz.

Rep. McCarthy has not backed down. Much of the criticism directed his way has been for his bipartisan efforts to pass certain legislation.

However, the bipartisanship has made some believe that he works with Biden more than he does even though the president has refuted such claims, stating that he has not yet spoken to the speaker of the house about the Ukraine deal.

In other news, Texas Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (D) recently sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo requesting that the Department of Commerce protect the fisheries on the Gulf of Mexico by issuing a fishery resource disaster determination.

In a statement, the Texas congressman gave his thoughts on the issue and its importance.

“We need our federal government to protect our South Texas shrimpers,” said Rep. Gonzalez.
