Crenshaw Comments on Rescuing Americans in Gaza

This morning, Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a press conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, an effort to show the world solidarity between both countries. As the war between Hamas and the Jewish State of Israel continues, American casualties continue to rise. In an exclusive interview with  Texas Politics,  Rep. Dan Crenshaw, Crenshaw provided some insight into the effort to rescue Americans in Gaza.

The United States estimates that there are around 500 to 600 U.S. citizens that are in the Gaza strip.

Because some U.S. citizens are looking to cross the border into Egypt, a senior administration official commented that “we’re talking intensively with the government of Egypt, the government of Israel how we might arrange that.”

Florida Rep. Cory Mills (R) traveled to Israel to help rescue U.S. citizens as the IDF pushed back against Hamas. During an interview on the Ingraham Angle, Mills commented that he ventured to Israel because contact from Americans in Israel to the State Department “were getting nowhere.”

Rep. Crenshaw was asked if President Joe Biden (D) should act quicker and send in special ops to rescue Americans in Gaza.

“If we could actually know where they are, and that is an intelligence problem that is extremely difficult,” Crenshaw expressed, adding that, “If I ever find out that the president knows where a hostage is and we don’t send somebody in, I’d be a little disappointed.”

“But there are a lot of factors there,” Crenshaw added.

Hamas’ terrorist attack has claimed 1,300 Israelis including 150 hostages.

During the press conference, Secretary Blinken shared that “the people of Israel have long – and rightly – prided themselves on their self-reliance, on their ability to defend themselves, even when the odds are stacked against them.”

“The message that I bring to Israel is this: You may be strong enough on your own to defend yourself – but as long as America exists, you will never, ever have to. We will always be there, by your side,” Blinken added.
