Nehls Frustrated as December Reveals Most Migrant Encounters at Border Ever

Representative Troy Nehls (R-TX) is calling out President Joe Biden (D) and his administration for what he believes is a neglect of the crisis at the southern border.

The frustration from Rep. Nehls comes after it was announced that December broke the record for migrant encounters at the border, according to Fox News.

This month, more than 276,000 migrants were encountered, exceeding the previous record which was set just a few months prior in September at 269,735 encounters.

Additionally, Rep. Nehls pointed out that there have been an enormous number of border crossings in the last three months.

“730,000+ illegal aliens have been encountered at the southern border since October 1st. Where’s President Joe Biden? Where’s Border Czar Kamala Harris? Where’s Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas?” said Nehls.

With all of this in mind, there have been roughly 1 million migrant encounters at the border in just the last four months.

Steps by the State of Texas have been made in an attempt to discourage illegal crossings from occurring at the border.

Recently, Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) signed SB 4 into law, a bill that criminalizes illegal entry into the Lone Star State.

"I signed a law yesterday to criminalize illegal entry into Texas & authorize the removal or imprisonment of illegal immigrants crossing our southern border. Texas will continue stepping up until we have a new president who will enforce the law," said Gov. Abbott.

In November, U.S. Representative Ronny Jackson (R-TX) predicted that America would face an imminent attack due to “gotaways” creating terrorist cells within U.S. borders.

“When there are terrorists that are coming across our southern border – there’s absolutely no doubt about that – they’re setting up terrorist cells and you know, we’re destined for another 9/11 or another big terror attack in this country,” said Jackson. “Thanks to Joe Biden’s open border that is going to happen and it’s probably going to happen sooner than later based on what’s going on in the Middle East.”

Rep. Jackson also stated that the Biden administration has put America in a “horrible position” regarding this issue.

“These people are here, and they’re inspired, between Hamas and the Israelis right now. This is going to push them to do something. And so, I think [President Biden] has put us in a horrible position on a lot of fronts, not just overseas, but domestically as well, and we’ve got a price to pay for it,” Rep. Jackson said.

The Texas congressmen will certainly have an issue to run on in 2024 should the border woes continue.
