Van Duyne Attacks Biden's Immigration Policies

In an interview with NewsNation, Texas Representative Beth Van Duyne (R) attacked President Joe Biden’s (D) immigration policies as she pushed for the Senate to pass H.R. 2.

“.@HouseGOP  have passed legislation to secure our border while Democrats in the House and Senate have fought us every step of the way. Biden has the tools he needs to secure the border but refuses to use them. Sadly, Democrats would rather play politics than protect the American people,” tweeted Rep. Van Duyne.

The Texas congresswoman has repeatedly attacked Biden on his immigration policies.

“As Joe Biden purposefully destroys our border security and allows deadly fentanyl to flow into our country, North Texas is battling the fentanyl crisis in every school and neighborhood. Tragically, fentanyl has taken yet another young life in our community. Mr. President, you must use your authority to secure our border and slow the flow of fentanyl! #OnePillCanKill,” said Van Duyne in February.

“The House has actually sent over H.R. 2, or Secure Border Act of 2023. It’s been sitting and just languishing in the Senate. I think that the Democrats have ample opportunity. If they were serious about securing our border, they’ve got all the tools there,” said Van Duyne in her interview with NewsNation.

The representative pushed further and stated, “It includes building a wall. It includes getting rid of the catch and release program and includes working with local law enforcement. It includes asylum, redoing our asylum laws that actually recognize that people can stay outside of our country, the first safe country that they get into or remain in Mexico policy.”

Van Duyne has continuously pushed for the Democrat-controlled Senate to pass H.R. 2. However, she has said little about the immigration bill passed by the Senate that has been rejected by the House.

The congresswoman has been heavily focused on crime that can come through the border. In her statement to NewsNation, she reiterated these claims.

“But stop letting millions of people into our country illegally that are literally killing, raping and committing crimes throughout our communities,” concluded Van Duyne.
