Abbott Welcomes Walmart's new Milk Processing Facility to Texas

Texas Governor Gregg Abbott (R) announced today that Walmart would be opening a new milk processing facility in Robinson, Texas. Calling it a "big win for Central Texas," the governor shared that it would create new jobs and millions in capital investment.

Texas has been at the center of the political conversation in recent months, and the state continues to make waves as "a top destination for world-renowned businesses to expand & thrive" according to Governor Abbott.

With the new milk processing facility coming to Robinson, the project is estimated to create nearly 400 new jobs and $350 million in capital investment.

"Walmart's new processing facility in Robinson is exciting news for Texas, creating millions in investment for the local economy and hundreds of new, good-paying jobs for hardworking Texans in Central Texas," the governor announced in a statement. "World-renowned companies like Walmart continue to choose Texas because of our unmatched business climate, lower business operating costs, and highly skilled, diverse, and growing workforce. This major investment is a testament to the promise of economic success in Texas, and I thank Walmart for choosing McLennan County as the location for their important new facility."

Walmart Manufacturing Vice President Bruce Hickman shared that Walmart is "excited to be able to provide Texas and its surrounding states with high-quality milk sourced primarily from Texas dairy farmers." "This new facility continues our commitment to building a more resilient and transparent supply chain and ensuring our customers' needs are met for this everyday staple."

Walmart is the No. 1 company on the 2023 Global Fortune 500, and it is one of the worlds largest retailers, providing more than 10,500 stores and numerous eCommerce websites in 19 countries.

Abbott continues to tout the success of the Lone Star state, and though rumors are circulating regarding the possibility of him being President Donald Trump's (R) Vice President, the governor has affirmed that his priority is to run for reelection and lead the state.
