The streak of success continues in the Lone Star state. Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) announced that Texas leads the country for the second time in annual jobs growth.
Taking to social media to share the announcement with his followers, the governor informed that the state “added 263,900 jobs from January 2023 to January 2024 – the most in the nation.” “Working with our business leaders & unrivaled workforce, we will continue to build a bigger, better Texas for generations to come,” he promised.
Following the release of employment data by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics,” Governor Abbott released a statement, congratulating Texans and Texas employers. “It is no surprise that Texas begins the new year as the nation’s leader in job creation, again adding more jobs over the last 12 months than any other state,” he said.
“Texas offers innovative entrepreneurs and job creators the freedom to succeed and hardworking Texans the tools to prosper. But we cannot be complacent. To continue to lead the nation – and the world – we must safeguard the promise of Texas,” the governor warned. To “safeguard the promise of Texas,” he explained that the state will “continue to invest more in our schools, our skilled workforce, and our already robust infrastructure to further expand economic opportunity for all Texans.”
The news comes after the governor announced that Walmart would be opening a new milk processing facility in Robinson, Texas. This new milk processing facility is expected to create nearly 400 new jobs and $350 million in capital investment. Calling it a “big win for Central Texas,” Governor Abbott assessed that “world-renowned companies like Walmart continue to choose Texas because of our unmatched business climate, lower business operating costs, and highly skilled, diverse, and growing workforce.”
The governor has touted the success of Texas, and he maintains that his goal to continue leading the state instead of accepting the role of President Donald Trump's (R) vice president.
