Cruz Reprimands Allred for Association with Anti-Zionist Imam

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is reprimanding his opponent, Representative Colin Allred (D-TX) for his association with Imam Omar Suleiman, who has a history of anti-Zionist comments.

According to Jewish Insider, Imam Suleiman has compared the Jewish state to the Nazi regime and called for a third intifada.

“Suleiman also described ‘Zionists as ‘the enemies of God, His Messengers, sincere followers of all religions, and humanity as a whole,’ and said that support for Israel has made the U.S. ‘unprincipled and contradictory’ and that support for Israel undermines ‘our claim to greatness and our claim to being the moral superpower of the world,’” reported Marc Rod of Jewish Insider.

Rep. Allred described Suleiman as “the best of North Texas.”

The Cruz campaign released a statement saying, “To this day, Allred has refused to address his relationship with Suleiman, his flip-flopping record on Israel, and his co-signing of a letter to send aid to Hamas-controlled areas, which even Biden officials admitted would help Hamas.”

The campaign continued, “Allred is once again making it clear to Texas voters that on the issues that matter most, he'll always stay silent.”

Sen. Cruz also took a shot at Rep. Allred as well as the Democratic Party for “turning their backs on Israel.”

After the Oct. 7 terrorist attack on the Jewish state committed by Hamas, war has waged on, resulting in thousands of deaths, both civilian and military personnel. Surprisingly, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called for new elections in Israel to possibly oust their leader, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Furthermore, following Hamas’ recent press conference in which they stated “Israel has failed and they have no more support in the world,” Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign acknowledged this as a “thank you” from Hamas to Democratic leadership.

"The Democrat Party has made it very clear that they have fully turned their backs on Israel, our only ally in the Middle East. In doing so, they have emboldened Hamas and threatened Israel's existence and the stability of the entire region,” said a Cruz campaign spokesperson. “Once again, on an issue that matters, Colin Allred is nowhere to be found. He remains silent, making him equally as complicit as his party's leadership. Texas voters will not forget his lack of leadership in November."

Sen. Cruz and Rep. Allred will face off in the general election for Cruz’s Senate seat in November.
