Van Duyne Calls for Law Enforcement to 'Escape' New York and Move to Texas

Texas Representative Beth Van Duyne (R) took out an ad in the New York Post calling for law enforcement members to flee the state of New York, and its crime, and migrate to Texas.

“Ladies and gentlemen of law enforcement it’s time to escape New York and move to Texas!” reads Van Duyne’s ad.

The congresswoman’s statement comes after NYPD officer Jonathan Diller was killed. Van Duyne stated that Officer Diller’s death was a “preventable” catastrophe.

Van Duyne took extreme umbrage with politicians she referred to as “pro-criminal” expressing remorse at the loss of the NYPD officer.

“The same disgraceful politicians who endlessly work to put violent criminals back onto the streets; demeaning the work of law enforcement officers and putting everyone’s lives in danger, deserve every hit of scorn and rejection we can muster,” said the Texas representative about the politicians’s alleged hypocrisy.

Van Duyne continued to blast the New York politicians whom she accused of making endless budget cuts.

“Join us in the Lone Star State where we revere and respect our law enforcement officers,” said the congresswoman.

The Texas politician pointed to the potential benefits of living in Texas.

“Our cost of living is lower. Our quality of life is better. And Texans embrace, support, and love the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our families, businesses, and communities. Y’all have a home waiting for you here in Texas,” said Van Duyne.

The Texas congresswoman has been ripping various services that she sees as harmful toward citizens. Recently, Van Duyne introduced H.R. 7831, the Preventing Financial Exploitation in Higher Education Act, to stop universities from taking advantage of students financially.

According to the statement, “the bill would impose financial penalties on universities with multi-billion dollar endowments who have high percentages of students defaulting on Federal student loans.”
