Roy Speaks out Against Ukraine Aid

To say that Texas Rep. Chip Roy (R) is frustrated with House Republicans is an understatement. Rep. Roy has sounded the alarm on the southern border, calling on the Biden Administration and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R) to address the issue. However, with the House voting to provide more than $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, the border continues to pose a threat. Slamming the "swamp media," Rep. Roy is now speaking out against Ukraine aid.

For months, polling has shown President Donald Trump (R) with a lead over President Joe Biden (D) in battleground states. Voters side with the former president on numerous issues except abortion. However, Rep. Roy has taken an issue with the "Swamp Media" projecting that President Biden is winning. This, Rep. Roy says, could stem from Republicans caving in on issues they claimed to stand against.

"Of course Biden will win if the negotiating position of the GOP leadership is a) I will never shut down (while telling GOP, trust me - I will fight for border on Ukraine), b) I will never let FISA expire, c) I will 100% fund Ukraine, just please give me border," Rep. Roy wrote on X.

Rep. Roy shared that his constituents as well as Americans across the country want a secured border, "and this is non-negotiable for me as their representative."

"We have already spent most of $113BB on Ukraine, and only about $45BB of that went to 'lethal aid,' and this is for another $60BB."

Roy further commented that "there will almost certainly be future requests, including rebuilding," and he is wary of what lies ahead because "since 2001, our nation has engaged in endless borrowing for conflicts with no skin-in-the-game to pay for said conflicts, racking up literally trillions in debt."

"There has been, and remains, a complete lack of clarity of mission for end-result or pressure on Ukraine to get to the table.
