President Joe Biden (D) shared with the world that the fighting between Israel and Lebanon-based terror group Hezbollah has come to a ceasefire. From the White House Rose Garden, President Biden said that neither the Jewish State nor the Lebanese people wanted the war but that Hezbollah initiated it.
"Let's be clear. Israel did not launch this war. The Lebanese people did not seek that war either. Nor did the United States," Biden said. "Security for the people of Israel and Lebanon cannot be achieved only on the battlefield. And that's why I directed my team to work with the governments of Israel and Lebanon, to forge a cease-fire, to bring a conflict between Israel and Hezbollah to a close."
If passed, the resolution would have blocked the sale of over thirty-two thousand 120mm tank cartridges and munitions Israel could use in its war against Hamas.
US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) warned that support of Israel within the Democrat party is slowly deteriorating.
“Despite what Schumer or others might say, the anti-Israel hold on the Democrat Party is strong and growing by the day,” said Senator Scott. “Look at their actions! 35% of Senate Democrats just voted to stop an arms sale to Israel.”
Moreover, Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) accused the International Criminal Court (ICC) of "turning a blind eye" on Israel.
After the ICC shared that it believed Prime Minister Netanyahu is guilty of criminal responsibility for war crimes, which include "starvation as a method of warfare" and "the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts," Rep. Moskowitz shared his take on the situation.
"The ICC turned a blind eye to many atrocities, including Bashar al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons to kill hundreds of thousands of Syrians. But when it comes to Israel defending itself against Hamas, the ICC doesn’t hesitate to exercise this antisemitic double standard," said Rep. Moskowitz.
With the arrest warrant, Prime Minister Netanyahu is the first Israeli leader to be summoned by an international court for alleged actions against Palestinians in their 76-year conflict.
