Poll Shows Biden Supporters Don't Favor Hunter Biden Pardon

Late Sunday evening, President Joe Biden (D) pardoned his son Hunter Biden. The move has been criticized by Democrats and Republicans alike after the president repeatedly assured that he would not do so. A new Rasmussen poll indicates that President Biden's supporters also do not favor Hunter Biden's pardon, adding to a controversial finish to his presidency.

Shortly after the president announced he would be pardoning his son because Hunter Biden had been "treated unfairly," Republicans denounced the move, claiming it was an example of the government being weaponized. Democrats similarly criticized the President albeit pointing out that he had repeatedly mentioned he would not pardon his son. In the end, the incumbent president shared that Americans should understand him as a father and the position he was put into.

A new Rasmussen poll however shows that the president's supporters overwhelmingly reject the pardon, and the poll also indicates that his administration could be seen in a more negative light.

"Just 30% of voters favor @POTUS Biden's pardon of his son Hunter," Scott Rasmussen announced on X, adding that "62% are opposed [to] the pardon." Moreover, Rasmussen shared that 37% of the respondents felt that "Hunter Biden was unfairly targeted by prosecutors for political purposes."

In contrast, "a larger number, 46%, believe that @realDonaldTrump was unfairly targeted by the Justice Department under President Biden's leadership."

The findings come at a time when President Trump and his cabinet members are sounding the alarm on the federal government, claiming that it has been weaponized against the president and conservatives.

After pardoning his son, President Biden ventured to Africa, and during a press conference in Angola, he was asked about the pardon. However, the president offered no answers. This has spurred conversations about other pardons that the president could be preparing to offer. Names such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, California Rep. Adam Schiff (D), and former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney (R) are rumored to be receiving pardons as they are seen as individuals that President Trump could "target" once he steps into the White House.
