Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) boasted Texas' apex status in the energy industry, including the state's strides in its "all-of-the-above" approach to meeting the electric demands of the area. Within the governor's press release, Texas was mentioned as the "world's energy hub" that improved upon its capabilities in providing the necessary service to Texans.
“Texas would not be the energy capital of the world without the hard work of the men and women of the energy industry,” said Gov. Abbott. "As Texas continues to experience unprecedented growth, we will remain a leader in energy while also bolstering the Texas grid to meet the growing demands of our great state. In the last twelve months, we increased dispatchable power capabilities of the grid ensuring that every Texan has access to affordable and reliable power."
Gov. Abbott went on to say that the Lone Star State will "continue to strengthen" its energy abilities in the future.
"Working together, we will continue to strengthen our energy industry and increase capacity to ensure every home and business has the power needed to thrive in 2025 and beyond," concluded the Texas governor.
For instance, earlier this month, Governor Abbott championed the state’s energy sector, highlighting Texas as No. 1 for wind power generation and No. 1 for utility-scale solar capacity that cements Texas as the energy capital of the world. Additionally, Abbott discussed Texas’ ongoing efforts to become the epicenter of the nuclear energy supply chain to help power the state grid.
Moreover, in February, at the NAPE Summit with Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt (R-OK), Abbott highlighted Texas' robust energy sector and ways the state can continue to defend this critical industry from federal government overreach. The Governor also touted new records set by the state's booming energy industry this past year, including crude oil production, natural gas production, and natural gas liquids production.
Texas, with its vast lands and liquid gold underneath its feet, will always have the title of energy king as long as the state continues to improve upon its successes.
