Arrington & Cruz Aim to Reverse Biden's Oil Drilling Ban

Representative Jodey Arrington (R-TX) and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) have introduced legislation to reverse President Joe Biden’s (D) ban on offshore oil and gas drilling. His ban restricts the United States from drilling in 625 million acres of coastal and offshore land, including the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. Rep. Arrington and Sen. Cruz's bill would overturn President Biden's ban.

Rep. Arrington, the House Budget Chairman, called President Biden's late-term move an " all-out assault" on American energy.

“In the final hours of his presidency, President Biden finished off four years of self-inflicted disasters by continuing his all out assault on domestic energy production,” said Chairman Arrington. “Banning oil and gas production on millions of acres of offshore waters takes direct aim at American energy producers, threatening national security, and empowering adversaries like Russia, all just to take one last bow for the woke and climate obsessed mob."

Rep. Arrington also added that he and Sen. Cruz's bill will "ensure a clear path" for President-elect Donald Trump (R) to - as Trump puts it - "drill, baby drill" during his second term in the Oval Office.

Senator Cruz and I are fighting to repeal this dangerous policy, unleash American energy, and ensure a clear path for President Trump's America First agenda on day one.”

Moreover, Sen. Cruz shared that Biden's move at the final hour was a "gift" to American enemies.

"President Biden’s ban on new offshore oil and gas drilling is an attack on American energy independence, jobs, and national security,” said Sen. Cruz. “His action is a gift to our adversaries and once again confirms that this President prioritizes green special interest over the livelihood of American energy workers. Today, I am introducing legislation to overturn this executive order. Under President Trump, we achieved energy dominance and I am committed to leading the fight to restore it and protect Texas jobs.”

Additionally, Cruz recently criticized Biden's outgoing administration as well as "Obama officials" after the Cuban regime was removed from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list. Cruz, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, described this move as an attempt to "undermine" President-elect Donald Trump's (R) administration.

Moreover, the Texas senator also mentioned that this foreign policy results in "incredible damage" to national security for the United States of America.

“Obama-Biden officials are continuing their legacy of closing out administrations with rank appeasement of the Cuban regime. They push these policies both because they believe in them and to undermine the incoming Trump administration and Republican Congress," said Sen. Cruz. "These moves do incredible damage to American national security and send a message to our adversaries that they can rely on outgoing Democrat administrations – and wait out pressure from Republican administrations – to continue engaging in terrorism and other aggression against Americans."
