Harrison Claims Texas House 'Corrupt Den of Liberal Dysfunction'

In a recent appearance on the Dana Show with Dana Loesch, state Rep. Brian Harrison (R) unloaded on the Texas House, calling them a “corrupt den of liberal dysfunction.”

The Texas congressman did not hold back during the interview as he delivered a scathing critique of his congressional colleagues, accusing some in the GOP of collaborating with Democrats.

For weeks, state Rep. Harrison has called out Texas Republicans on social media, accusing the state of not being the conservative state many imagine it to be. Instead, he has urged Republicans to commit to prioritizing conservative policies, and his frustrations reached a tipping point on the conservative podcast.

"I’m a native Texan. I love this state, and we have a reputation, as does Florida by the way, for leading in freedom and liberty and limited government and fiscal responsibility and individual liberty,” state Rep. Harrison addressed.

However, he commented that “so-called Republicans” have colluded with Democrats to catapult Democrats into leadership positions, calling it “treasonous behavior.”

“The state of Texas, sadly, has been just coasting on that reputation for far too long,” he mentioned.

State Rep. Harrison then highlighted several issues he believes Texas lawmakers have failed to address, including high property taxes, school choice, and election integrity.

"We’ve got a situation where Texans are being taxed out of their homes with confiscatory levels of property taxes, we don’t have school choice – one of the very few Republican states that still insists on keeping poor kids trapped in failing schools,” he lamented, adding, “we did nothing on election integrity in the last multiple years, we’ve got medical freedom issues, we still haven’t banned COVID vaccine mandates for students for example. There are big issues that my voters – 30 million Texans – are counting on their government to do."

He went on to note that the election of Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows (R) is a clear example of this “collusion” between Republicans and Democrats, adding that the House is more preoccupied with honoring Beyonce than with addressing border security.
