President Donald Trump
President Donald Trump has endorsed Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) for Florida Governor.
Through a post on Truth Social, President Trump lauded Representative Donalds and predicted he would be a great governor.
“As Governor, Byron would have a BIG Voice, and would work closely with me to advance our America First Agenda,” claimed Trump.
While Donalds has yet to officially announce his gubernatorial campaign, rumors have it that he is considering running and will announce his campaign soon.
“President Trump is Making America Great Again. I'm committed to working with him to Keep Florida Great. Announcement coming soon,” teased Donalds via X.
Recent polling has reportedly demonstrated that Donalds leads other potential gubernatorial candidates by a wide margin.
A poll from Victory Insights suggested Donalds would win a Republican primary against Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez (R-FL), Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez with 31% of the vote, with the closest competitor only gaining 4%.
“(Donalds) will fight tirelessly to Secure our Border, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military, Protect our Vets, Restore our Economic Power, Advance American Energy DOMINANCE, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment,” continued Trump.
Donalds has been an unquivering ally to Trump, frequently appearing alongside him on the campaign trail and lobbying in support of his agenda in Congress.
“Byron Donalds would be a truly Great and Powerful Governor for Florida and, should he decide to run, will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, BYRON, RUN,” concluded Trump.
Trump’s endorsement of Donalds undermines Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ reported intention of attaining Trump’s endorsement for his wife Casey DeSantis’ potential gubernatorial candidacy.
As The Floridian’s Javier Manjarres exclusively reported, Governor DeSantis was reportedly scheduled to fly to Washington D.C. to meet with Trump and lobby for him to support Casey DeSantis.
