Internal Memo Suggests 80,000 Cuts to Veterans Affairs

The Trump administration is facing mounting criticism following reports of an internal memo suggesting that it will cut over 80,000 jobs from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The reorganization aims to return the VA’s staffing levels to 2019 numbers, reducing the workforce to just under 400,000 employees. READ MORE.

Senator Charles Perry Intends to Crack Down on the sale of THC Products

By Raelyee Barefield

Lubbock Senator Charles Perry (R) has authored and filed Senate Bill 3, to crack down on the illegal sale of THC products. SB 3 would ban all hemp products containing THC above the legal limit, enhance reporting and licensing requirements for legal cannabis producers, and levy a 10,000 annual licensing fee to manufacturers.

During Monday’s State affairs hearing, Perry expressed dissatisfaction with the hemp consumables industry.

“The reason we are here today is because an industry that has shown itself not to be trustworthy has exploited this issue to the point that is has endangered public health”

However, Sen. Perry has also authored Senate Bill 1505, which will expand a compassionate use program in Texas allowing for the prescription of low-THC concentration medicinal marijuana to people with certain conditions. The bill will double the number of companies licensed to produce these prescriptions from 3 to 6.

Rep. Greg Casar: "One million children not treated for severe acute malnutrition. 166,000 people dying from malaria. Tuberculosis cases going up by 30%. 200,000 more children paralyzed by polio over the next decade. This is the real cost of carelessly cutting USAID. Experts warned Trump & Musk. They did it anyway."
Rep. Brandon Gill: "We need to triple double on the work Elon Musk is doing with DOGE. It's impossible to overstate how important this is. The current waste, fraud and abuse they are uncovering is completely unsustainable and will bankrupt our nation if it isn't stopped."
Rep. Jasmine Crockett: "In @OversightDems today, my colleagues stuck to their usual script: blaming immigrants for all crime & claiming Dem mayors are too soft. Well, I was curious to know if they've ever had an immigrant with a criminal record that they could recall."
Sheldon Daniels For Congress: "We're out flipping voters in one of the most democratic precincts in TX30! The people agree. Jasmine has failed us. Vote Sheldon Daniels in 2026!"
