Cruz, Scott Introduce Bill to Curb Chinese Force Organ Harvesting

Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rick Scott (R-FL), Ron Johnson (R-WI), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Mike Rounds (R-SD), and Thom Tillis (R-SC) have reintroduced the Falun Gong Protection Act. The bill aims to sanction those who participate in the horrors of Forced Organ Harvesting, especially those targeting Falun Gong practitioners in China.

According to Freedom House, millions of Chinese participate in Falun Gong, a combination of religious practices from former Eastern Hemispheric traditions such as Buddhism and Taoism.

Sens. Cruz and Scott's bill would also require the Secretary of State to report to Congress on organ transplant policies and practices of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and end American and Chinese ties in the organ donation sphere realm.

Sen. Cruz mentioned that the end of organ harvesting by the Chinese Communist Party has been due for quite some time.

“China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is an attack on religious freedom and human rights. It’s long past time to dismantle the CCP’s state-sponsored organ harvesting industry," said Cruz. "I urge my colleagues to join me in countering these human rights violations and ensuring the CCP is held accountable.”

Moreover, Sen. Scott said that forced organ harvesting is par for the course for the CCP as "one of the worst human rights abusers in the world" and that the international community should "take a stand" against this unfathomable crime.

“The Chinese Communist Party is one of the worst human rights abusers in the world, made clear by its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and forced removal of organs," said Scott. "The United States and every freedom-loving nation must take a stand and demand accountability for those responsible for this religious persecution and forced organ harvesting, and work to put an end to Communist China's blatant human rights violations. I’m proud to join my colleagues on this legislation as a critical call to action against the Communist Chinese regime.”

Sen. Cruz also recently introduced a bill that would ban the usage of Chinese (or any non-American)-made American flags by federal agencies.
