Cornyn's Daughter Accused of Lobbying for Alibaba

Embattled conservative commentator Laura Loomer claimed on social media that she would drop a bombshell that would significantly impact an important senate race, and the fallout could spell disaster. In an X post, Loomer accused Senator John Cornyn’s (R) daughter, Haley Cornyn, of lobbying on behalf of Alibaba, a Chinese tech company linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

According to Loomer, Haley Cornyn registered as a lobbyist in Texas for Alibaba from March 17th through December 31st, 2025. This period overlaps with escalating legal scrutiny of Alibaba by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), who is challenging Senator Cornyn for his seat.

Poll after poll has indicated that Attorney General Paxton is leading in the race, and Senator Cornyn’s support in Texas continues to dwindle.

“Why is a GOP Senator’s daughter in Texas lobbying for a CCP company?” Loomer questioned on X.

Senator Cornyn, who is a longtime member of the Senate Intelligence, Judiciary, Finance, and Foreign Relations Committees, now faces criticism for his daughter’s alleged efforts for a company that has been flagged for national security concerns.

Loomer went on to accuse Senator Cornyn of being “possibly compromised by the CCP,” leading to a call for him to exit the senaterace. “This is another example of why Senator [John Cornyn] is unfit to continue serving in the US Senate,” she wrote.

Attorney General Paxton’s office announced on May 6th that Alibaba and other China-based tech firms were in violation of the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, which mandates transparency, consent for data collection, and opt-out options for sensitive data processing. The companies were given 30 days to comply or face legal action.

“Senator John Cornyn’s daughter’s lobbying activities in Texas for CCP-linked Alibaba is a NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT,” Loomer warned. “It exposes how the CCP has direct ties to U.S. Senators via their family’s self-enrichment through cushy lobby positions that benefit our foreign adversaries.”
