State Senator Mayes Middleton: "Is Gene Wu back in China?"

Texas House Democrats: "Breaking quorum is not a decision we take lightly. However, when Governor Abbott chooses to withhold critical flood relief in order to advance a partisan agenda at the request of Donald Trump, we are left with no choice. He had ample opportunity to prioritize disaster recover earlier in the session but instead chose to play political games."

State Rep. Stan Kitzman: "While rural families are still drying out from record floods, and working Texans are crushed by rising property taxes, Democrats in the Texas House broke quorum and walked away from their duty."

State Rep. Ana Hernandez: "Leaving the state was not a decision I took lightly. But I won't stay in a process that shuts out my community. My responsibility is to them -- and I'll keep fighting to make sure they're heard."

State Rep. Nate Schatzline: "We have made a call of the House. Fines will start immediately. Arrest warrants have been issued. Republicans showed up, Democrats ABANDONED Texas!"

State Rep. Armando Walle: "Breaking quorum is an act of last resort and not something I do lightly. I truly feel the best way I can fulfill my duties as the elected voice for these communities is by doing whatever is in my power to stop these maps from becoming law."
