Governor Greg Abbott: "Texas House Democrats abandoned their duty and are holding flood relief and property tax cuts hostage. I ordered Texas DPS to arrest and return every derelict House Democrat to the Texas Capitol. This order will remain in effect until all missing Democrats are accounted for."

House Speaker Dustin Burrows: "The Texas Constitution requires members of the Legislature to show up, and Texans expect us to do our jobs. I remain fully committed to obtaining a quorum and resuming the business of the Texas House."

Rep. Jasmine Crockett: "The Oversight Committee subpoenaed the DOJ for the Epstein files. They now have 2 weeks to release the files to the committee. It's time to find out who's been protected, who thought they were above the law, and who's been hiding behind power."

Texas Democratic Party Chair Kendall Scudder: "I can't think of a better word to describe someone like Donald Trump than 'entitled,' but that doesn't mean he's 'entitled' to congressional seats. Donald Trump is trying to steal 5 seats in Congress to avoid accountability in the 2026 midterm election. Donald Trump is a cheater, Greg Abbott is a cheater, and Ken Paxton is a cheater (in more ways than one)."
