Ingeteam Powers 640MW Texas Solar Project with Central Inverters

Spanish inverter manufacturer Ingeteam has delivered 149 liquid-cooled central inverters for the 640 MWdv Parliament Solar in Waller County, Texas, marking a major milestone in one of the states largest utility-scale solar developments.

Ingeteam integrated INGECON SUN 3Power Series C inverters into 80 UL-certified transformer stations,, delivering a full turnkey solution for the project's energy conversion. The company's Milwaukee facility handled the commissioning.

Managed by Parliament Energy, the solar farm is expected to generate approximately 1,100GWh of clean electricity annually. This would be enough to power thousands of homes.

Backed by EnCap Investments and Mercuria Energy, the project also includes equipment from tracker manufacturer Ideematec, which supplied its L: TEC 1P tracking systems

“Our market experience, combined with a well-established U.S. subsidiary, has been crucial in securing and executing this project,” said Nohra Nasr, Ingeteam’s U.S. Vice President. “We hope it marks the first of many collaborations with this client.”

Ingeteam has supplied over 6GW of solar and energy storage technology across the U.S. The market continues to show strong growth, with FERC reporting that, as of January 2024, utility-scale solar accounted for 81.5% of all new power generation, outpacing natural gas and nuclear combined.

Texas currently ranks second in total installed solar capacity at 43,563 MW, and SEIA projects the state will add another 40, 863 MW over the next five years, potentially overtaking California as the nation's leading solar state.
