ConocoPhillips, a global oil and gas company, is celebrating a landmark educational impact in Texas.
On social media, ConocoPhillips announced that their 20-year partnership with Teach For America Houston has had a significant impact on Rodriguez Elementary.
“Located in Houston’s Gulfton community, the school is thriving with 15 TFA-connected staff members – including current corps members and alumni educators – who have helped drive academic gains.”
ConocoPhillips shared the announcement with an image of schoolchildren celebrating at an event, reiterating the impact the company has had in education.
In 2024, the oil and gas company donated $42.7 million in cash contributions to their “three giving pillars,” which include signature programs, local contributions, and employee giving programs.
Rodriguez Elementary is not the only school they’ve had an impact on.
In 2024, the company announced that the University of Houston would have a ConocoPhillips STEM-Zone. The STEM-Zone is described as “an in-person monthly program designed to engage K-12th grade students from local, state, national, and global communities in the STEM fields through Athletics/Sports.”
In the Greater Houston area, they also commemorated the tenth anniversary of their Math Teacher of the Month program.
Regarding their contributions to energy, ConocoPhillips shares that they align with the United Nations General Assembly’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Namely, goals 7 and 8, which respectively “ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all” and “promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.”
ConocoPhillips currently operates in 15 countries.
