Gina Hinojosa
Gina Hinojosa, a Democratic State Representative, has officially announced her entrance into the race to become Texas' next governor.
"Our fight right now is against billionaires and the corporations are driving up prices, closing our neighborhood schools, and cheating Texans out of basic healthcare," Hinojosa said in a video posted on X. "I'm running for governor to work for you."
Hinojosa, who represents parts of Austin in the Texas House, plans to campaign throughout the state in the coming months.
She has also been an active proponent against Governor Greg Abbott (R), especially during his push for the School Voucher Program, accusing Abbott of putting Texans below the "billionaires" who support him.
"Greg Abbott has been selling out Texans to the highest bidder for the last 12 years," shared Hinojosa. "I'm fighting back and running for governor to serve the people, not the corrupt elite."
Hinojosa joins four other Democrats already in the race, which include a retired firefighter and East Texas farmer Bobby Cole, Bay City council member Ben Flores, veteran Nick Pappas, and Houston businessman Andrew White.
