Asia jet Deals Underscore America First Trade and U.S. Manufacturing Revival

President Donald Trump’s Asia trip is doing exactly what conservatives expect from “peace through strength” trade policy: pressing foreign capitals to buy American and rewarding U.S. workers in the process.  As  President Trump arrived in the region, Southeast Asian governments and carriers rolled out commitments tied to new trade understandings, adding up to roughly 125 Boeing jet announcements and putting real numbers behind an America‑first agenda.

Markets noticed. Boeing shares rose 0.8% to $223 as the deals were announced, making the case that President Trump is Boeing's best salesman.

The pipeline has been building since Trump took office this year. Through September, Boeing booked 821 jet orders—already surpassing the 569 logged for all of 2024. That demand strengthens the company’s hand as it invests in American manufacturing: more U.S. assembly, more supplier work, and more middle‑class jobs anchored in export growth.

Trump’s trade diplomacy isn’t about photo‑ops. It’s about outcomes measured each month in paychecks and plant shifts. By leveraging U.S. market power and unapologetically championing American manufacturers overseas, the administration is translating state visits into export wins that flow directly to factories back at home.

Japan is also showing a willingness to buy more U.S. goods. There is anticipation that Japan will place a sizable order for Ford F‑150s after the pickup, which Trump calls a “hot truck," was prominently featured during the president's meeting with Japan's new prime minister this week.

As America’s largest exporter, these orders are the lifeblood of Boeing’s U.S. industrial base, supporting assembly lines, suppliers, and related investments across American manufacturing hubs, including facilities in Texas. For Trump, they are political proof that his trade agreements produce real benefits for U.S. workers and advances his America-first promise.
