President Trump Endorses Trever Nehls for Troy Nehls' Seat

Earlier this year, Troy Nehls (R-TX) announced that he would not be running for re-election, but another Nehls could be succeeding him. Trever Nehls, Troy Nehl's (R-TX) identical twin, hopes to take over his brother's congressional seat, and President Donald Trump believes he has the character to do so.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump shared that it was his "Honor" to endorse Trever Nehls for office.

Calling him a "MAGA Warrior," the president cited that "[Trever] and his family are fierce advocates for our Movement to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN," noting his career as both a former Fort Bend County Constable and retired U.S. Army Colonel as examples of his commitment to supporting law enforcement, the military, and veterans' concerns.

"In Congress, Trever will work hard to Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Advance American Energy DOMINANCE, Champion Election Integrity, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment," the president added.

Troy Nehls (R-TX) announced his retirement from Congress last month via social media. The Texas lawmaker, who has been a staunch supporter of the president from Texas' House District 22 since 2021, shared that he had notified President Trump of his decision not to run for a fourth term because "President Trump has always been a strong ally for our district and a true friend, and I wanted him to hear it from me first." He subsequently endorsed his brother, and Trever Nehls vowed to "stand shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump."

Texas' House District 22 is composed of most of the southwestern portion of the Houston Metropolitan Area, which includes a portion of the cities of Sugar Land, Needville and Rosenberg. The district also includes part of the Greater Katy area.
