Steve Toth Endorses Ken Paxton in Texas Senate Runoff

Texas State Rep. Steve Toth (R) is throwing his support behind Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) in the Republican primary runoff for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by John Cornyn (R).

State Rep. Toth, who recently defeated incumbent Dan Crenshaw in the Republican primary for Texas's 2nd Congressional District, announced the endorsement in comments to Breitbart News.

"During my time in the Texas Legislature, I have come to know Ken Paxton on both a professional and personal level," said Toth. "As our Attorney General, Ken has been a staunch defender of conservative values and constitutional rights."

Toth also praised Paxton's character, describing him as a public servant who prioritizes the state over personal interests.

"On a personal level, I know Ken as a selfless servant who has always put Texas before his own personal interests," stated Toth. "This is what we desperately need from people we send to D.C., and it's why I am endorsing him in his race to be our next United States Senator."

The endorsement comes as Paxton seeks to unseat Cornyn in a Republican primary runoff that has become one of the most closely watched political contests in Texas. The race has highlighted divisions within the state's Republican Party between long-serving establishment figures and candidates aligned with the party's more conservative grassroots base.

Paxton responded to the endorsement in an X post, writing that he was "honored to be endorsed by future congressman" Toth. Paxton went on to reference the primary election results and how they indicate Texas's need for change.

"We sent a message to Washington that Texas is ready for change, and I'm looking forward to finishing the job and firing John Cornyn in May," Paxton highlighted on social media.

Toth's endorsement adds another prominent Texas conservative voice to Paxton's campaign as the Senate primary runoff approaches. The contest will help determine the direction of the Republican Party in Texas ahead of the general election.
