Texas Republicans Rally Behind Ken Paxton After Trump Senate Endorsement

As early voting gets underway in Texas's high-profile Republican Senate runoff, Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) has seen a wave of support from Republican lawmakers following a major endorsement from President Donald Trump.

AG Paxton and U.S. Senator John Cornyn are competing in the runoff election for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, with the race increasingly becoming a battle over alignment with Trump and the broader "America First" movement inside the Texas GOP.

Shortly after Trump announced his endorsement of Paxton, several Texas Republicans publicly rallied behind the attorney general on the social media platform X.

Congressman Wesley Hunt (R) announced his endorsement by writing, "President Donald Trump has made his position unmistakably clear in the Texas Senate race, he is fully backing Attorney General Ken Paxton, and SO AM I."

Hunt also called on his supporters to unite behind Paxton, describing him as "the next United States Senator from Texas."

Congressman Brandon Gill (R) tied his support directly to Trump's endorsement, posting, "President Trump just endorsed @KenPaxtonTX. I proudly supported Ken in the TXSen Primary because we need to change the Republicans we send to the Senate."

Congressman Ronny Jackson (R) called Paxton "the ONLY candidate who is a PROVEN leader on ALL counts," while Congressman Troy Nehls (R) described Paxton as the "conservative warrior we need representing the great state of Texas."

Paxton responded to Trump's endorsement by writing, "I am incredibly honored to have President Trump's COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT."

"No one has ever fought harder for the American people than President Trump," added Paxton. "I look forward to championing his America First agenda in the Senate!"

With early voting now underway, Paxton's growing list of endorsements from Texas Republicans following Trump's backing highlights the President's continued influence in shaping the Republican Primary and runoff contests across Texas.
