Texas Tech Athletics has announced a 15-year naming rights agreement with Galaxy that will rename the home of Red Raider Football as Galaxy Stadium beginning with the 2026 season.
Texas Tech Athletics announced a long-term partnership with Galaxy, a global data center infrastructure and digital assets company, to rename the university's football stadium Galaxy Stadium, beginning with the 2026 football season.
Beyond stadium naming rights, the agreement includes:
Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said the partnership represents a significant milestone for the athletics department.
Kirby Hocutt: "We're pleased to welcome Galaxy as the new naming rights partner of our football stadium."
Galaxy Founder and CEO Mike Novogratz said the company views Texas Tech as a long-term partner.
Mike Novogratz: "Texas Tech is exactly the kind of institution we want to be aligned with."
Mike Novogratz continued: "We're here to build alongside Texas Tech for the long term, and this is just the beginning."
Galaxy's investment builds on its growing presence in West Texas through its Helios data center campus in Dickens County, located about 60 miles east of Lubbock.
The company is investing billions of dollars into the facility, which has 1.6 gigawatts of approved high-performance computing capacity. Galaxy said many Texas Tech graduates already work at the campus.
Texas Tech will officially begin playing in Galaxy Stadium during the 2026 football season under a 15-year naming rights agreement. The partnership extends beyond athletics to support NIL opportunities, technology initiatives, workforce development, and long-term investment in West Texas.
