Pete Hegseth Chides Reporters for Allegedly Spreading False Information About Iran War

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth pushed back on reporters over the weekend for allegedly spreading false information regarding the war in Iran.

Secretary Hegseth discussed the reasoning for the Iran War, which was to destroy Iranian military factories and bases he claims were funded by American cash from the Iran deal in 2015.

Secretary Hegseth:

"These cameras have a choice. You either inform the American people of the truth or you are not."

The Secretary spoke at the White House, saying he wanted to stop the Iranian regime from "holding the world hostage."

The U.S. and Iran have had tense relations for decades, once allies turned enemies. The resolution of U.S. relations with Iran in the 2010s led to the conflicts with Iran in 2026, Hegseth explained.

"Many of the Iranian military factories and bases that we are destroying were paid for by the pallets of American cash that Barack Obama flew into the Tehran under the Iran deal," said Secretary Hegseth. "You might call it an inconvenient truth."

In 2026, the U.S. has spent months attacking Iranian military bases and factories, attempting to wipe out their military forces entirely.

"Iran took our money and turned it into weapons, bunker, ammo. Now we're destroying the weapons and you are righting that grievous wrong," said Secretary Hegseth. "Make no mistake, we had to act. Objectives clear. No nukes, no Navy, complete dismantling of the missile program and defense industrial base."

Despite repeat U.S. attacks, Iran has remained strong, pushing back on American military forces and regaining access to missile sites along the Strait of Hormuz.
