The University of Houston (UH) has officially joined the Texas Nuclear Alliance (TNA), expanding the university's involvement in advanced nuclear energy research, manufacturing, and workforce development.
The alliance brings together leaders from industry, academia, and government to advance nuclear technologies that support growing electricity demand, strengthen domestic manufacturing, improve energy security, and drive long-term economic growth.
UH officials said the partnership aligns with the university's broader strategy of advancing energy innovation through interdisciplinary research, collaboration with industry, and commercialization of new technologies.
UH Vice President of Energy and Innovation Ramanan Krishnamoori: "Texas and the University of Houston have long led the nation in energy innovation and research. We look forward to working with the Texas Nuclear Alliance to accelerate technologies that will shape the future of the energy industry."

UH noted that governments and private industry are increasingly investing in advanced nuclear energy as a reliable, carbon-free power source, with nearly $1 billion in private investment supporting innovation across the sector.
Texas Nuclear Alliance President Reed Clay said UH's research expertise and location in Houston make it a valuable addition to the organization.
