Monica De La Cruz Announces $6 Million Federal Grant for McAllen Industrial Park

Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (R) joined Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to announce a $6 million federal grant for the City of McAllen Industrial Park, a project expected to attract private investment and create nearly 500 new jobs in the Rio Grande Valley.

Federal Grant Awarded

Rep. De La Cruz joined U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos, and City Manager Isaac J. Tawil to announce a $6 million grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for the City of McAllen Industrial Park Project.

The funding will support new public infrastructure designed to strengthen the industrial park, attract private investment, and expand economic opportunities in the Rio Grande Valley.

According to the announcement, the investment is expected to:

  • Establish new public infrastructure for the industrial park.
  • Support existing businesses operating in the area.
  • Attract new private sector investment.
  • Create nearly 500 new jobs in the Rio Grande Valley.
