Lawmakers are set to leave Capitol Hill this week and hit the campaign trail in full force ahead of the November midterm elections, but Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) may be bringing a COVID-19 diagnosis to Florida.
In an interview with The Floridian and Texas Politics, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said she is currently battling COVID-19 while sporting a mask.
In the same interview, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said she is heading to Florida after this week to tout the Democratic Party’s focus on universal healthcare policies alongside fellow progressive Congressional nominees.
“We need to be talking about healthcare and wages,” Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said. “And they [Republicans] want to be swinging a lot of racially, wrong and bigoted things back and forth because they want us talking about that.”
