Texas Pet Care Company Donates Nearly 20,000 Meals to Animal Rescues

Fur Services Fur Pets, an Aubrey-based in-home pet care company, says its Feeding Our Fur Friends program has donated 19,469 meals to animal rescues and shelters since launching in June 2024.

The program ties donations directly to completed service visits, donating one meal for every visit completed by its Pet Companions. At the end of each quarter, the company calculates the number of completed visits and provides the equivalent food donation to two partner organizations selected for that cycle.

The company serves communities across North Texas, including Aubrey, Little Elm, Prosper, Frisco, and surrounding areas.

The most recent contribution, made in September, was divided between Heavenly Purrsuits Rescue and Little Elm Animal Services. Little Elm Animal Services requested supplies instead of a cash donation, so Fur Services Fur Pets purchased items from the shelter's published wish list.

"Every visit our Pet Companions complete turns into a meal for an animal that does not have a home yet," said Jessia Milam, owner of Fur Services Fur Pets. "Our clients are the ones funding this. They book the visits. We count them and pass it along."

Heavenly Purrsuits Rescue and Little Elm Animal Services are the company's partners for the 2026-2027 cycle. Previous recipients have included:

  • Dallas Cat Lady
  • A Voice for All Paws
  • Spicy Whiskers Cat Rescue
  • Murdocks Mission

The company said it created the program after seeing the capacity pressures facing local shelters and rescues, as well as Milam's experience taking in a dog found starving on the street. Rather than hold a one-time fundraiser, the company structured the program so donations increase alongside the number of services it completes.

"Shelters know what they need better than we do," said Milam. "When a shelter tells us it would rather have supplies than a check, that is an easy yes. We bought what was on their list, because that list was written by the people doing the feeding."
