Crenshaw calls Progressive MJ Mehar a liar over false COVID funding statement

With the state of Texas having been recently designated a “Toss-Up” in the 2020 presidential election by the Cook Political Report, one would think that the senate race between Sen. John Cornyn (R) and combat veteran MJ Mehar would be just as close, but it’s not.

Sen. Cornyn, Texas’ senior U.S. Senator,  leads Mehar by as many as 10 percentage points in the latest Real Clear Politics average of polls.

Mehar is holding her own and is making a strong final push, but overstepped when she stated that Cornyn refused to help pass the most recent Senate COVID relief spending bill.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R), a wounded combat veteran Navy Seal, called  Mehar a liar on social media for she asserting that Sen. Cornyn “left the Senate without passing any relief for struggling families

“This is exactly wrong, it’s a lie, and MJ Hegar knows it,” stated Rep. Crenshaw. “Senate DEMOCRATS blocked COVID relief packages from being voted on in the Senate. Every Republican Senator, including John Cornyn, supported relief.”

Crenshaw couldn’t be any more right and posted a collage of news accounts whose headlines read,” Senate Democrats block Republican Covid” relief.

Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D) said after he directed Senate Democrats to block the Senate Republican effort to move the COVID relief measure to a full vote.

"Mr. Leader, go look up in the dictionary what bipartisanship is. It's both parties working together," Schumer said. "This bill is not going to happen because it is so emaciated, so filled with poison pills, so partisanly designed. It was designed to fail.”

Mehar’s well-written and cryptic positions on the issues signal that she's in support of the entire Socialist Progressive agenda that is being summarily rebuked by most Americans.

Being labeled a Socialist Progress in a statewide race is proving to be problematic for Mehar. Other Texas Socialist Democrats like congressional candidates Julie Oliver and Mike Siegel appear to be garnering more support for the platforms because their respective districts reach into very liberal Travis County, but even with that very left-of-center support, both Siegel and Oliver face steep uphill climbs on election day.
