After President Trump concluded his 4th rally of the day in Pennsylvania on Saturday, the Democratic presidential nominee-supporting Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has changed course for the first time in 48 years and has endorsed President Trump over Biden, a move that surprised Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw (R).
“Wow, in PA. In the end, this election is about what policies will affect your family,” tweeted Rep. Crenshaw. “Dems offer lockdowns & call it a “plan.” They offer the destruction of our energy sector & higher taxes. Republicans offer a restoration of our economy & way of life.
Crenshaw's energy sector jab at Biden is due to the former vice president's recent statement that he would seek to end the oil industry during the last presidential debate.
Trump: “Would he close down the oil industry?” “Would you close down the oil industry?”
Biden: “I would transition from the oil industry, yes,” Biden responded.
The latest insider/Advantage poll shows Trump leading Biden by 2-points going into election day, but the average of all polls has Biden leading by 4.3 percentage points.
So, all bets are off in Pennsylvania.
As for Rep. Crenshaw, he also faces a tough re-election challenge against Democrat Sima Ladievardian in Texas’ 2nd congressional district, but in looking at the latest polls, Crenshaw should win his race.
Crenshaw was his first run for office in 2018 with 52.8% of the vote after veteran Rep. Ted Poe (R) retired from the U.S. House of Representatives.
