Jodey Arrington
McAllen— Shortly after a press conference Republican members of the Texas congressional delegation held at the U.S. border to address the illegal immigration crisis, Rep. Jodey Arrington was asked by a local reporter to explain why he didn’t support the non-use of the term “illegal” when referring to illegal immigrants or aliens.
While Rep. Arrington explained his position to the reporter, his answer didn’t appear to be what she wanted to hear, prompting her to quickly end her line of questioning.
Texas Politics asked Arrington to defend his answer and elaborate more on the Biden administration's recent move to remove the term “illegal” when referencing illegal immigrants.
Arrington also said that he believed that the illegal immigration problem was a lot broader and “sinister” because the administration is pushing a “no borders, no law” immigration agenda.
"I think it's more sinister than technical technicalities. I think they want as Kamala Harris has said, she said it should not be a crime to cross the border illegally, that it should not be a crime,” said Arrington.
Arrington added that he thought that “changing the terms in the federal statute from illegal alien to non-citizen just aligns with the open border champions like Kamala Harris.”
“This is the world she wants to create,” concluded Arrington. “This is the vision for a stronger country that she wants for the United States, so I think these things they may seem subtle but I think they are sinister and they're very intentional to again to make the new reality of what they would, what they're hoping for, which is open orders, no borders, no law.”
President Biden has appointed Vice President Kamala Harris to lead his border crisis efforts, but Harris has yet to say what, if anything, the administration was going to do to stem the tide of illegal aliens trying to cross the border. Biden's border crisis approval numbers have tanked.
