Reports State High-Ranking Hamas Official has Been Killed

As the Israel-Hamas war continues, recent reports state that a high-ranking Hamas official has been killed.

The Hamas commander, Ayman Nofal, is considered the most high-profile member of the organization to be killed in the war.

The Israeli military strike that killed the terrorists occurred in a refugee camp in Bureij located in central Gaza.

So far, the Israeli military strikes have killed and wounded thousands located in Gaza.

The military tactics in the war have been viewed as controversial by some. Many humanitarian organizations have called for peace and for the avoidance of civilian deaths.

Hamas’ initial attack against Israel was unannounced and killed several Israeli and American citizens while also taking many captive, in the process. The Iranian-backed terrorists have harmed several captives and have threatened to kill others.

Israel recently warned Gazans to evacuate the region, as ground warfare and more military strikes were set to commence. Yet, many Gazans have struggled to find food because of the conditions that must be met in order for the aid to cross country borders.

In other news, House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY), Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and 390 representatives introduced bipartisan legislation standing with Israel and condemning Hamas’ brutal, terrorist attacks against Israel.

Texas Representative Vicente Gonzalez (D) denounced the vile acts Hamas committed and stated Congress’ allegiance to Israel.

“The United States Congress stands with Israel in its fight to defend itself against the sickening acts of violence and atrocities committed by Hamas. Proud to stand with my colleagues and the Israeli people.”

In a statement, Rep. Meeks emphasized President Joe Biden’s (D) commitment to Israel.

“President Biden has committed the United States fully to Israel’s self-defense,” said Ranking Member Meeks.

Meeks called for unity in the House, saying “Israel is responding to the Hamas terror organization’s unprecedented attack. The bipartisan resolution will demonstrate this is one issue in which the US House of Representatives is united, and I expect it to pass the House with broad bipartisan support.”

Rep. McCaul stated that the unification of the bipartisan House could show where the U.S. truly stands on its allegiance to Israel.

“Now is the time to show the world the United States firmly stands with our friend and ally Israel in our condemnation of this heinous attack by Iran-backed terrorists,” said Chairman McCaul.
